A Bit About Dr Anna Byrne-Smith
Anna is a HCPC registered Clinical Psychologist with experience working with individuals from a variety of backgrounds and age groups. As well as having completed her master’s and Doctoral degrees In Clinical Psychology, Anna has additional qualifications in Children’s Psychological Wellbeing, Supervision and Systemic Practice.
Anna has experience of working with common difficulties such as anxiety and worry, low mood, anger and difficult relationships. She has also worked with people with physical health diagnoses at St Thomas’ Hospital. In addition, Anna has experience of working with children and adults with neurodevelopmental conditions like autism, ADHD and learning disabilities and is trained in ADOS autism assessment. She has experience of supervision and of service development and has worked in the position of a supervisor within the NHS, with management and team development responsibilities.
Dr Anna Byrne-Smith uses a variety of therapeutic approaches, drawing mainly from Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Narrative Therapy and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). She believes in the importance of creating a friendly, non-judgemental atmosphere where difficulties can be discussed collaboratively, and personal strengths and resources explored.
