Under the Data Protection Act 2018 & General Data Protection Regulations 2016 the service lead, Dr Lucy Kozlowski is the Data Controller of all data & records associated with the Third Wave Psychologist. 

Third Wave Psychologist strictly complies with the Data Protection Act 2016 & General Data Protection Regulations 2018, adhering to the 7 principles set out when processing, storing & utilising client data.

Confidentiality & Privacy

Attendance in therapy will remain private & confidential, with data only shared with those that the client consents to share information with (for example course tutors, GPs, partners, the therapists supervisor). The exception to this is if there are concerns regarding risk of harm occurring to the client or the general public. In this instance, in line with a legal, professional & ethical duty of care to clients & the public, information is required to be shared with the relevant agencies. To ensure safe & ethical practice, therapists are required to attend clinical supervision with another therapist to support with case management reviews & reflective practice. Clinical supervisors are also bound by the Data Protection Act 2018 & General Data Protection Regulations 2016, & all discussions seek to maintain anonymity where possible.
