A Bit About Carolina Wagner

Carolina Wagner is a bilingual cognitive behavioural psychotherapist and a trainee mindfulness-based cognitive therapist (MBCT) with 8 years of experience. Her training has involved working with children and adults that experienced difficult life circumstances (abuse, neglect, being care experienced, etc.). Therefore, she places the utmost attention to develop a relationship of trust and mutual growth with her clients.

Over the past years, she has trained in the treatment of a range of issues. However, she treats each client as a unique individual within a system or community. She does not consider a diagnosis required to attend psychotherapy sessions. A process of self-exploration can be conducted without necessarily aiming for the recovery of symptoms. She works in person in Solihull, West Midlands, and remotely at The Third Wave Psychologist with young people and adults both in Spanish and English.

With over 8 years of clinical and research experience, Carolina is a specialist in supporting children, adolescents & adults with:

  • Depression, bereavement, low self-esteem, and assertiveness.

  • Self-harming behaviour and mood instability.

  • Generalized anxiety, social anxiety, health anxiety, panic attacks, obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD) & perfectionism.

  • Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), childhood trauma and different types of abuse, including domestic abuse.

  • Neurodevelopmental conditions, such as autism or attentional deficit and hyperactivity disorder (ADHD).

  • Long-term conditions e.g., irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), diabetes, chronic pain, chronic fatigue, and dissociative non-epileptic seizures.

  • Eating disorders in non-underweight clients.

She offers a 15-minute phone call free of charge before starting the sessions for client-psychotherapist to get to know one another and consider whether they would like to work together. She tends to use this opportunity to address all the questions that clients might have regarding the process - for example, the frequency of the sessions and method of contact between them.

Carolina offers:

  • 1:1 session with children from 4 years of age upwards, adolescent & adults.
